➙➙➙ I am a former IELTS examiner! I can give you a mock IELTS speaking exam, tell you your band score, and give you advice about how to reach your target speaking band score.
➙➙➙ I taught in China for 19 years, mainly teaching Oral English to university students! I left China in July 2019 and now live a quiet, peaceful life in the U.S. teaching online and doing different kinds of online business.
➙➙➙ As of August 2020, I have taught over 1,000 hours online, giving mock IELTS speaking exams, helping students prepare for the IELTS exam, and having free talk. Here on Amazing Talker I will only give mock exams.
➙➙➙ I have only opened a limited number of time slots. Please contact me if you want a lesson at another time. I should be able to find another time for you. It's more likely that I will be available in the morning (Asian time zones) than that I will be available at night.
➙➙➙ My lessons are only for people who are going to take an IELTS exam.
➙➙➙ You can choose the 25-minute lesson or the 50-minute lesson. I recommend the 50-minute lesson because that gives me time to get some background information from you at the beginning, then I can give you the mock exam and tell you your speaking score. I'll tell you what you need to do to make your goal score then I'll tell you the mistakes you made. You'll also have time to ask me questions. You can also choose the 25-minute lesson, but there is only time for me to get a little information, give you a mock exam, then tell you your score and what you need to do to improve.
➙➙➙ In my classes I am kind and gentle, with a bit of humor, but the most important thing to know is that I will tell you the truth. I will not say nice things to make you happy. I will honestly tell you what your score is and what you need to do. If I have to give you bad news, I will do it gently. I know how important the IELTS exam is to you. I take my responsibility very seriously.
➙➙➙ I suggest that you have the 50-minute lesson when you first start your IELTS classes, then take the 25-minute one a week or two before your exam. Remember, I don't teach IELTS classes. I only give mock exams. That's my specialty. There are many great IELTS teachers on Amazing Talker for you to choose from.
➙➙➙ I have been a teacher all my life! First I was a music teacher in the U.S. and Mexico. Then I taught ESL (English as a Second Language) in China for 19 years. I taught at universities in five cities in China.
➙➙➙ Even though I lived in China for a long time, I am (sadly) not fluent in Chinese. It's a hard language and I didn't study enough! Don't make my mistake! Work hard on your English! I can speak some Chinese, but not a lot. I can also speak Spanish and German, because I have lived in Mexico and in Vienna, Austria.
➙➙➙ My favorite animals are cats and rabbits. I live with my elderly mother now, and she has two cats. When I lived in Xi'an, China I had a pet rabbit. Her name was Qingqing. She died when she was 2 1/2. I cried. My favorite sport to watch is cycling. The Tour de France bike race is wonderful. I work online at home. I teach English online and I have a couple of online stores to sell different things. I also do some writing. For example, four years ago I wrote a short ebook about how to teach Oral English in China. I wanted to help newcomers to be better teachers.
